Back in 1992 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a few
years after the sudden death of both my parents, and of course the
initial shock gave me a sense of loss, and complete emptiness. It all
seemed far too much to deal with at the time, my mind spinning with
confusion, I thought I'd been cursed, I could not see the logic or
understand why someone so young, only eighteen could be suffering in
this way.
I went through a series of tests and was eventually put on steroids,
which didn't seem to do any good whatsoever. Thank God I found a
homeopathic Doctor who helped changed my life for the better, special
diet, positive mind and a will to live made a dramatic change to my well
being.
I've made my dreams a reality, I always say You can do anything if you
put your mind to it. Years ago my interest lied in banking, but since
the death of my parents and the diagnosis of having MS, I believe we
should all live our lives to the full, live it as if it's your last
days.
I sing jazz, soul, gospel, pop and anything goes really, as long as it's
got a bit of rhythm, I'm truly soaked up in the beauty of music and it's
therapeutic values.
I do only what I enjoy, I tend to mingle with positive people, people
who inspire me, complement me, inform me when I'm wrong, friends who
assist me to move on in the journey ahead. See, I feel negative breeds
negative, positive breeds positive.
Life is hard and I'm not for one moment denying that, but through the
stormy days, there's always sunshine on the other side, and if you don't
have stormy days, then that's amazing. But my life's experiences, good
or bad, have always been a lesson for me of which I've learned from.
Living with Multiple Sclerosis has certainly not deterred me from
achieving goals, if anything it has given me a zest for life, determined
against all the odds to reach the hearts of many.
My final thought for you:
IF YOU CAN CONCEIVE IT,
AND BELIEVE IT,
YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT.
